43% of the story so far is about war and crusades and suddenly an oiled, naked man appears, wearing only a vest and holding a wooden slat. Absolutely unhinged 😂

The main character is "hard, intense and powerful" (direct quote) and everything he does, he does naturally also "hard, intense and powerful", while pretty much everyone else is described as sickly, too fat or somehow otherwise unattractive. And of course, he is very well-educated, has a photographic memory, and is absolutely selfless 😐

I paused my Brimstone read for this, it’s better be worth it…
