Started Psalms & 1 Chronicles-written 500 yrs after the Israelites returned from exile. It recounts the reign of David.

Finished 1 Samuel and started on some of the Psalms! The last chapter ends with Saul’s death and David starting his reign.

Finished the book of Ruth! God is only mentioned once, when Ruth tells Noemi that ‘ her God will be my God’ , otherwise God was working behind the scenes in redeeming Noemi’s tragedy into JOY!! From this parental line came king David & King Jesus! Boaz’s mom was Rahab, the prostitute and Ruth a Moabite, enemy of Israel!!

Finished the book of Judges!
Judges 21:25b “Everyone did as he saw fit” was the central theme of this book, God was rarely thought of or sought out and Israel had their 1st civil war.

Finished Joshua with a Psalm or two!

Finished the book of Deuteronomy- last book of the Torah, written by Moses

Finished the book of Numbers

Finished Leviticus- the book about the Priests of Levi, yes many rules for this newly freed nation who had been enslaved by the Egyptians. They had to be purified to serve the serve the one true God.

Finished Exodus - the Israelites started out enslaved by the Egyptians and end the book as freed people, being ked by the God 9f all creation. Pretty much sums up by life before Jesus entered my life.
