more stuff i definitely didn't remember. i don't love the uncle being a talking point at this dinner table, but it's a really stellar depiction of how emotionally immature people will use avoidant behaviors like deflecting and shame to avoid ever feeling shame themselves. but this book isnt about that, either. it's just background shittiness in the grand scheme of things

i dont remember anything of substance about this book! it's wild meeting these characters again
