The Cinderella plot of the ball is just being laid out. My favorite is the description of our heroine as a blond with the audiobook cover of a brunette.

Ha ha ha. That's classic.
I read an article about old style publishing where different departments handled each part of the book, so covers often had NOTHING to do with the book.
Ugh, I hate it when book cover characters don't resemble the actual characters. Thankfully, my paperback edition didn't have this issue. Hope you have fun reading this one, Merry! It was among my favourites of the Bridgerton books. I'm apprehensive about the series having the same feels because they've already shown Benedict in such a poor light. 😒

Probably not what happened, but I just listened to this podcast on how book covers are made. The designers aren’t usually able to read the books, so they just get a general brief about the book. But someone should’ve caught that at some point! Unless she dyes her hair later in the book or something 😂💕
