i’ve come to realize my biggest issue with the father haunting the narrative so we don’t actually get any scenes with him, or rather flashbacks. it’s hard to feel sumptuary for the characters when they are mourning someone you know nothing about (until now in the story really)

wow okay chapter 14 was amazing

haven’t read this book in forever, so determined to finish it before summer
