really cool section of the book. I didn't know that Louis IX conducted a full blown amphibious landing during the seventh crusade! As a Marine, amphibious landings are a large part of our legacy, so it's really cool to see a 1250 beach assualt.

This book in connecting with me in a big way! I heard the Author of The History of Byzantium - https://open.spotify.com/episode/5psP... - and I enjoyed the Author so I bought it. Really good so far! He is making this very accessible to people who may not know the era as well and I'm realizing that the stuff it's covering is what first excited me about history as a boy.
