the plot has not gotten any less… unique?

the current situation in this book:

a guy is walking down the street per the request of literal crazy people (the main characters) after receiving a presidential pardon for murdering a cop (which he did not actually do) and $327k in cash to retrieve a magical object from a porch while being attacked by a band of dogs and protected by two lions

i swear i’m making progress, just slowly

(also this is a really weird case of abstract where every action makes sense but the WHY is a big secret which is beyond annoying bc nothing happening is particularly interesting just odd and violent)

listen, i am all for abstract fantasy, love it actually,, but wtf is happening right now?

ngl i got this confused with a mystery book i wanted to read but apparently this should be fantasy and that is still a vibe
