Alright, my guess for why Amanda hates Eden is that she assumed Eden liked Kevin and was mad about it. Then Kevin made up a story about something happening between them and Eden was the villain in it, instead of the truth. There could also be a little her liking Josh but I think that reason would be too petty and defeat the meaning of the book a little
