I have been informed by a subject matter expert (Anisha) that there is a difference between romance novels with sex scenes which I usually read and spicy romance novels (erotica) which have a higher number of sex scenes with more explicit sex scenes.
However aforementioned expert (Anisha) said that Game Changer's writing was especially bad and boring so I will continue to complain about it.
Rn I'm mostly bored

What... what is happening 😂😂 the sex scenes are straight up something from fanfiction, beat for beat, the language, the pacing, the phrasing everything.

Is all smut like this? I havent read enough romance novels to make a judgement 😔

Kudos for making the massive buff athlete the bottom though 👏

Some really mid ao3 level writing but I can read it despite a fever so that's a positive I guess

Aisha (never learnt how to read) eshana, out of curiosity, is this your first time reading a spicy book that isn't fanfiction?

message 2: by Gabrielle (new)

Gabrielle I, too, am curious about this 👀

I have! I have! But those did not read like this! I've read some queer contemporary romances that don't sound like something plucked from ao3

It's everything from the pacing to the word choices to the repetitive descriptions. Do men growl this much in regular published spicy books? Is there a werewolf epidemic?

Aisha (never learnt how to read) men do tend.... to growl a disproportionate amount. perhaps it is a secret werewolf epidemic
