blessed be thy book that disclaims "there is no moral message here" . the victorian aristocracy of 1847 would simply disintegrate at the state of the 2026 nyt bestsellers.

anyways. starting off so ridiculously strong. wuthering heights is ornamented with "villainous old guns" and so many dogs. too many dogs? and ornery, morose people. who "move not one second faster than usual" when a guest is attacked. loolz lolz

my kindle text size is different so my page numbers are off.
next maneuver by heathcliff : act as a loan shark to an alcoholic as part of a predatory land grab scheme. brönte wrote from a time where the aristocracy legally acquiring ancestral lands was fresh in the UK cultural consciousness. i respect the depth to which this novel covers the unjust victorian class system. is heathcliff even in the wrong chat ??

ok ok , omg. what to report. so much. sooo welcome to the lower middle class, isabella darling. do stay a while. maybe romanticizing your brooding husband, "the devil", has some consequences . heathcliff's playing 5d chess mama. no love in that heart. i'm sorry you got caught in the crossfire,, lost your maid servant, and live in poverty with "a little wretch" and a "hungry wolf" . sucks fr

taking this lockwood narrator's perspective: aaaalright, post-dog bite incapacitation, can't leave, nobody wants me here! brought to stay in the room the family "won't let anyone lodge in willingly"! woken up by a "waif ghost", lowkey embodied! nobody is pressed! heathcliff is sprinting in to meet it! "i'm now quite cured of seeking pleasure in society". looool

just a quick shoutout to the descriptive adjectives so far. "a matronly lady taken as a fixture along with the house" ,, "wretched inmates" , "the little witch", "the ancient", outbursts "smacked of king lear" . paint me that picture, help me remember characteristics of these outlandish wuthering heights residents past and present
