the sirens were singing the song of the iliad. the song of heroic death. did you guys all know this? they can give him wisdom if he lets them. they can help him understand. i know there is no rope tied to a mast on earth that would keep me away from those ladies and recognizing that here and now is called character growth

i didn't know about the sacrifices! so many young & beautiful boys died. the Greeks believed flowers were them returning. the anemone,, the hyacinth. (home depot garden center hits different now). that belief was their grieving yes
which marks the Greeks as more ..civilized than early Mesopotamians ? there, gods needed feeding. humans were labor, and sacrifice was transactional. here, tragedy. losses one can't undo

i feel i'm back in rome's borghese museum. blind visitors palming the ratto di proserpina statue. feeling persephone's helpless manhandled skin. I never felt so moved
but somehow my suffering potential over her amplifies. her mom demeter wastes away on Earth longing for her ..secondary effects. life and love can be so painful . fairness is a compromise. we as a society have been thinking about personhood for so long

barely going to make it out of this dog arc intact .....

lena adopted an "elderly dog" with cataracts and "a broken leg that never reset", "unused to her tripod status", with "ornate rituals to stay alive", and "only toothlessness to prevent her from taking chunks out of "[lena's] hand". lena met her "staring blankly at the toddler like she’d had her frontal lobe removed " .. holden caulfield ass characterization

auntie lena's ability to articulate the absurdity of modern life is unmatched. SISTERS she mentioned the live-in girlfriend-called-roommate trope. The feeling slighted about peoples' indifference to your curiosity-inducing life trope. The "being lost in reverie at the glamour of your situation" (freaking verbatim), then leaning on a railing that plummets hundreds of feet down a hill. our finest serial sitcom writer

miss magdalena obviously cares about her image. she leaves her ex, the disgraced but also MORALLY SOUND HERO for her waspy boss. she obvi thinks she's trading up. his class credentials, connections,, 60 minutes interviews. nahh irl he's a voeyeuristic creep in his "blank and empty middle age" years. that yacht scene was beautifully written. MIA picks the flashy predator over the virtuous protector. love books so bad

to read to experience "overwhelming enchantment". yes that's one way to put why I do it. to become "better and simpler in one's vision". yep that too! I do this. with humility and patience. waiting for the hour when a clarity is born. which is worth the wait and the effort. The Consumer is The Artist too. because the consumer too is a world. full of memories. future longings. i write my thoughts on the internet :o

wow! i must commend sadie's late characterization. her primary driver became very obvious: self worth. to prove she belonged in indifferent spaces. to be seen by people who once decided not to see her. validation that she was worth sticking around for,, that "They" got her wrong the first time. control over her image (something out of her and all of our controls). so tragic, so human, soooo relatable. my shayla

next maneuver by heathcliff : act as a loan shark to an alcoholic as part of a predatory land grab scheme. brönte wrote from a time where the aristocracy legally acquiring ancestral lands was fresh in the UK cultural consciousness. i respect the depth to which this novel covers the unjust victorian class system. is heathcliff even in the wrong chat ??

blessed be thy book that disclaims "there is no moral message here" . the victorian aristocracy of 1847 would simply disintegrate at the state of the 2026 nyt bestsellers.

anyways. starting off so ridiculously strong. wuthering heights is ornamented with "villainous old guns" and so many dogs. too many dogs? and ornery, morose people. who "move not one second faster than usual" when a guest is attacked. loolz lolz
