On the fence about how much I like this. It’s an interesting concept. Even if Marie’s writing pales in comparison with Ernaux, it’s still good.

My least favourite part is when they describe the photos. But how the photos are used as points of departure for rumination about life is brilliant. Cos that’s how life is isn’t it? Everything we do, say, feel, listen to and read feeds a thought that leads to another etc
