When I read it 20 years ago, this book felt like some kind of miracle...some impossible translation of George Eliot's omni- science and -benevolence (and skill) to Indira G's India

Good to know, I trust your judgment. I’m reading it atm actually, ive put a dent in it now, thoroughly enjoying it. I started and aborted two different books yesterday, im glad i settled on this one.
