First 8 pages and my god I’m expected to read 300 more of these sexist and pig-like analogies? I’m isn’t not going to get into the immediate fatphobia. Who cares if this is meant to give Paul characterization. This language is gross.

A lot of King’s language read as antiquated to me as well, on top of the slow burn for 150 pages or so, I almost wanted to stop reading as well. After finishing it, I still don’t like Paul, and I think that may be intentional. But dude, the last third of the book is pretty thrilling; Annie Wilkes is such a great antagonist too, I think she makes it worth it!
