Addie is literally the foil of Henry. she’s ambitious, unbreakable, and dauntless; Henry, however, is emotional, fragile, and pensive. ironically, this universe V.E. Schwab has created has made the two irrevocably perfect for each other the second they were cursed.
how tragic and beautiful!

i knew there was more to Henry than his eccentric, ambiguous facade!
i also have to admit, despite my growing love for this story, i much prefer the chapters about Addie’s past in 18th century France.

each page feels like i’m falling deeper and deeper into complexity surrounding Addie’s life—this writing is so poetic and smooth; it’s perfect!

this writing is breathtaking: “Books, she has found, are a way to live a thousand lives—or to find strength in a very long one.”
