The Augers are annoying and the hint that Ana’s agmutations are similar to theirs makes sense and is a lovely hint to what’s to come.

The plot is driving to a crazy point that surpasses the first book and draws me in Chapter by Chapter. I now think of Zoe Saldana as Mallory since it is clear that her people are prosecuted against for the class they’re born into and having to be slaves to the royals.

Ana is getting heated up and a nice twist reveal was added. Can’t wait to get more into this and hopefully the antagonist is more prevalent in the 2nd half of the book.

Snuck in two chapters on a Saturday, why not. Plot is progressing nicely as per usual.

Enjoying the build up of the mystery and the characters that are introduced.

I’m growing into this mystery and love that we now have Ana and Cole present in the book. I also need to read some cliff notes about the first book because it would seem as though the author has retconned Ana’s abilities. I recall her finally telling Cole at the end of the previous book that she doesn’t have any augmentations, but Cole referred to “still” not knowing them at the beginning of this story.
