On Kassad, the guy is insane and a total freak.
On Martin the poet, also a freak but somehow not as freaky despite his weird goat body-mods to attract ladies on Hyperion. His life is actually interesting, growing up on Earth, waking up with a stroke and a crass 9-word vocabulary, gradually recovering more words, publishing a very popular book, and then hitting a creative rut. The later is very relatable.

Sadly must leave off on Day 83 until I check this back out from the library. The last few entries from Fr Paul are clearly feverish and paranoid until he recovers from his illness. I’m guessing space-malaria or swap sickness or something.

So far, off to a good start. Some of the futuristic tech descriptions are a bit tough to understand and visualize, though the descriptions overall are good. The Consul is over here crushing on Laima instantly because of course he is. We can’t have one woman on the team without her being hot /s! I look forward to learning more about Fr Hoyt’s story and Hyperion in general.
