"I'm not an old man! I'm only 32 years old!"
Kafka is the protagonist we deserve. Fucking mood.
.
Not Reno delivering the final blow with the "Well, she's not wrong." 😭

She needed that. I'm glad that scene was the full page bc she deserves this father figure telling her she did a good job.
And she deserves to be protected like this! She had to grow I so quickly.
I love that Kafka is basically a single, loving father of two. I love him.

The facial expressions are so perfect. The tension the artist built with that look!
And I love that we didn't clutter the panel up. The look of shock, realization, and horror was our sole focus, and it really gave that white noise moment.
.
I adore her 'we'll go down swinging' mentality. I love a fierce, protective, female character.

Yet another fantastic panel.
Kikoru is looking bamf. I love that for her.
"No casualties or dropouts allowed."
I love that she's allowed to be a badass, without hypersexualizing her.
Pg 162
I love how stressed Reno is about Kafka's injuries. Honestly, I love everyone in this scene. Everyone looks awesome.

I really love a main character with an emphasis on support. Support is just as invaluable!
I think that's part of what I loved about Haikyuu. The way they highlight support and teamwork, instead of pushing/idolizing heroics and glory.

"Since I created the Defense Force suit at the same time I can't up with Mina's character design, it's basically designed to look good on her."
Good bro. Friend to women. Ally. Bestie energy.
Pg 144
I love Hoshino! He's such a brat, but it's a vibe. Like, he's so adorable, but also an absolute shthead. I really do love him.
(Why is that green? Will that stay green?)

Also, I love that he just walked away from her tirade to go take care of the company car.
That man is responsible!
Pg 127
"Everyone worked hard to get here. It wouldn't be fair of me to use that power to my advantage."
'Not all men.' You're right. Kafka Hibino, would never! 😤
.
The way he tried to rescind that challenge he laid down. This man is so self-aware, and I love it.

"I like protagonist that make you think, "Everything will be just fine once they show up!" I'm hoping that Kafka ends up being that kind of protagonist."
I love that!
That's so wholesome. I hope they know Kafka has that "I'm safe with him" aurora.
If I left my drink with him at a party, he would fight God to keep it safe.

That was such a narcissist move. Like, this is definitely not the attitude I want in my police and police adjacent workforce, but this is exactly the sort of ppl these jobs attract.
Like, she's not even an officer yet, and she's just casually destroying civilian property to assert herself.
