OK, I get that this story is too slow and has too many characters for today's YA fantasy, but when I read it for the first time (20 years ago) I loved it. And I still find it very charming. It is a weirdly cozy magician story, without the complexity of much of today's YA.

I very rarely re-read books because 1) there are so many books already on my TBR and 2) I am afraid they won't be as good as I remember them. But I've decided to dive into this (very underrated!) trilogy again and after going through the first chapter, I realise it is VERY MISTBORN CODED!!!!
