That sounds like Little Riding Hood in which case it is not about having fur - I personally found out the story can be read as a cationary tale to young women about the danger of... male lust when I was older. I didn't need fur to understand that interpretation.

Another favourite - brainless female. Anything he doesn't understand or doesn't like - this is what he says. How can I like a character that is trying for a love interest when he says this about the MC????

The humans are being so nice it makes The Others look even more irrational.

I know The Others aren't stupid, but scenes like this, where they don't get it or come to a completely different conclusion made them look stupid, make ME frustrated. I understand the argument the book is trying to make in this section - what behaviour is learned "subconciously" like the note taking, how much is their Otherness about little things no one bothered to explain. Doesn't make it better to witness it.

Did I say I like this version of romance? I take it back. This guy is thinking about another guy licking butter (from popcorn eating) from Meg's fingers and it makes him jealous. Is this supposed to be cute? A symbol of how different Simon is? I think it makes Simon look even more stupid than he already was and I find myself wishing there was no romance if this is what I get.

Did she just say she would not meet a guy who could maybe help her with her abilities, if and I quote "it bothers Simon"???? Meg, please learn about feminism and how to be your own person. You were doing so well before!
