Do we have to start every chapter reiterating that talking about this case “feels like purging an infection”? I got it the first 5 times it was said

A character, who from what I remember holds no religious beliefs, believes it’s demons with no evidence other than “there’s no other answer”

Though I want to believe the author could possibly care about exploited people, the way it talks about women really doesn’t show that at all.

Would benefit from more commas and better word choice
“mentored and groomed,” is an icky sentence. Leaving it at mentored or finding another word would have been better
