I've just been reading a commentary on the same Patrul Rinpoche text by HHDL, it's fantastic.

Huh, I haven't seen it in your feed. I have his Dzogchen book, but from the ToC this would seem to be different?
I've stopped tracking a lot of what I'm reading in the last year or so, in part because I'm re-reading a lot of old Buddhist stuff I've read before, in part because I'm reading a lot of sections in books, and in part because I'm annoyed with how buggy Goodreads has gotten to be. In this edition it's called "The Special Teaching of the Wise and Glorious King," I think it's the same? HHDL begins his commentary on page 56, in the chapter called "Hitting the Essence in Three Words." I daresay Patrul Rinpoche's work is a standard expansion of Garab Dorje's text in modern times.
