ahh you're in for a hell of a ride! mieville is a favorite of mine, and though this isn't my favorite of his, it's the gateway book. if you finish this and want to know where to read next, hit me up!

The City and The City was the last one of his I read, I think.

I read Kraken when it came out and the main thing I remember is a line something like "Are you entering the shit title Olympics?" or something to that effect.
