I really enjoy Thomas Mann’s writing. It borders on sitting through a philosophy lecture, but like in a good way if you’re into that sort of thing.

Also I am reading the James E Wood translation, the same translator for the version of the Magic Mountain I read. I don’t know any German but I get the feeling that this guy is a really good translator.
