this book is SO SAD AND HEARTBREAKING. yeah i knew they had fucked up childhoods but how did his life get worse?!! being abused and tortured by damian and mcgreggor (so happy when he died) and then feeling like a failure bc he’s uneducated and couldn’t even work at mcdonald’s.

i forgot that damian is a little freak for having pics of naomi and cassandra to blackmail and force cal into doing his job. like that’s not nice

cals backstory is so sad. he’s so funny though. his whole interaction with joanna literally made me chuckle. i love their power dynamic too 😛

i’m really liking it so far!! i also think the dynamic between cal and ryans mom is so cute. i like how she “knows”about cal and calls him ryans dark angel
