slowww going and I'm not sure how to feel so far. it's very much got that vibe of being set at a fantasy school despite being historical fiction. also I am borrowing this from my favorite professor!!!!

I hope so too!! I was talking to JCB about reading around the world and she said her students gave this to her when she taught in Slovenia for a year :) It's interesting so far but veryyy dense (and the text is small)
I also do want to read a more contemporary book that's actually set in slovenia though so if you have any recs I'm all ears!!!
I'll think about it and let you know! I think when it comes to contemporary lit, the only difficulty may be actually finding translations. But I'll look into it!
