44 - The War Service of Sherlock Holmes - I am usually not a fan of Sherlock being in "bigger" stories of national importance, but this executed perfectly, with a focus on the personal and intimate. I love the SherlockWatson analogue german spy guys, and I love everything about the ending. So bittersweet and haunting and beautiful and full of love.

43 - Lady Francis Carfax - The first and last third are exceptionally fun, and make the middle part being an absolute slump even more of a shame. The twist is amazing and I'm truly shocked by how few adaptations I've seen using it? It's such a vivid and morbid image
I might have lsitened to and reviewed this already. Drunk home on bus rides was not the ideal way to experience it however

42 - The Devil's Foot - '
"You are the devil himself!". Holmes smiled at the compliment". One of the most fun stories honestly. And somehow, just as gay as the last story. Whcih is to say, very. This story feels so specifically made for me too - they ponder archaeology and mention Buda? For me Mr Doyle? For me?

41 - The Dying Detective - This might be the gayest story yet, and that is clearing some insanely high bars. I thought the starting mention of Holmes' "dislike and distrust" of women was a lot, then he geneuinly said "Watson, if you love me....". AND besides that it's a super fun story? ACD invented anthrax bombing. awesome.

39 - The Red Circle - PINKERTON JUMSPCARE AGAIN??? im always a little sad when instead of a personal grudge, the solution involves some sort of grand conspiracy, but honestly. this was. fine. itsnfine.

38 - Wisteria Lodge - they say so many slurs in thus one. but also the general idea behind the story is quite generously 'woke' for its time. Arthur Conan Doyle, they can never make me form an opinion of you.
