see her trying to convince herself that the guy is not bad that he loves her even though he’s very toxic. I don’t know why, but as I’m reading this book, I’m feeling so much tension and fear.

no, one of the friends is angry that she did not tell them about the lecturers, but that is not true in the story. There was a place where she told one of the friends that she was sleeping with lecturers so I don’t really why this story is now making it look like as if she was us lying throughout to them that is not the case from what the story has been telling us the plot hole and inconsistency is too much

so we’re getting a totally different information from what we started with and I feel like I am confused because my understanding was different. OK I really don’t get this. I don’t get it and it’s annoying me. It’s annoying me. I’m asking myself. Is this a deliberate artistic choice or is this an issue of plot hole and inconsistency?

so I honestly don’t know what’s happening because something really weird happen now and I’m trying to figure out the whole story from this point is this a case of an unreliable narrator? Is this a case of memory not being well represented is this a case of trauma affecting the way story is told I don’t know because I just feel the whole story has been so confusing I know we are getting a different information

This story would have done better with more showing rather than just telling.

Another thing that I find unsettling as I read this book is how the timeline is not linear one moment. She’s 20 another moment. She’s 13 then she’s now 40 years old like I’m so confused. I don’t understand this anymore.

So far, what has made this a turgid experience for me has been the constant reminiscing about the past it’s just makes the reading really really not enjoyable because there is when you know there’s one or two elements of nostalgia or reference to the past but when it’s constantly in everything and it’s not just one memory but like five different memories at once it’s exhausting

also, somethings are not actually logical because if you attend the university of Lagos, you know that you will not have the same roommates except you or rent a house outside of the university so I’m surprised that these people are roommates from their first year to their final year, that’s literally impossible becauseyou have different roommates throughout.

The main character has met her roommates and she’s now redefining her life and creating a new identity for herself so basically she’s performing an identity

anyways, a thing that I noticed in some of these books is how they talk about the way men always find a way to blame the society or women for what they perceive as internalized failure on their own part
