I would highly recommend that anyone else venturing into this do so only after the entire series is complete, and listen one after the other so that you can more easily keep up.

I still enjoy the overall story, but this world-building and backstory is so in-depth that four books in and I’m still lost. I’m contemplating giving up on this (this audio is 30 hours!), but think I’m going to try to finish as I’ve already invested so much time into getting caught back up. (5 hours in now at 17% completion)
