That look in her eyes had been so broken, so wretchedly hurt — it fucking haunted me. I knew the reason she’d told me to leave was so she could weep alone.
Her sorrow was her business, not mine. But the bond between our beings still left me aching, it left me feeling hollow since I’d left her. There was no reason to be so attached, no point in being overly involved.

Zane tsked, looking down at the knife, then slowly back up to me as I took a step back, and then another.
“Juniper, oh, Juniper.” He sighed,grasped the knife, and jerked it free from his flesh.He waved the knife at me, smiling tightly. “Playtime is over, little wolf. That hurt, you know.”
“You scared me" My back was against the glas "Dont sneak up on me!"
"Yes that's what we demons do, we sneak and we scare."

I smiled bitterly. “You can’t fix me, you know.”
He shook his head as he stepped back into the shadows of the trees. “Fix you? Ah, little wolf, I have no desire to fix you. I just want to see all your broken edges shine. I want to feel how sharp you are.”
