The Song of Achilles was better. I’m almost done because MM’s prose is extraordinary. Circe herself not so much.

Just finished ch 17. And the Odysseus arc was wrapped up. I may be wrong but I thought historically Circe had children with him…? In MM’s version there was love shared between the two, but he chose his family & she wasn’t all that upset by it.

Circe’s really come into herself after being exiled to the island.

Circe’s just been exile to a far away island. So far she reads as a girl yearning for love as she’s always been overlooked and mistreated by those that are nearest to her. First by family and now even by the man she loved enough to turn into a God.
