Omg i called it she would go to Maven for Cal, externally she said all but internally it was all Cal.

Chp28. A apparently there is a secret new blood kingdom somewhere. This is the part of the story where everybody just hates her, no differentiation of opinions everyone just angry at her. Only that silver dude talks to her. She talks to her family, dad doesn’t want her to go to the choke. Idk i hardly know these ppl bc Mave only focuses on Cal

Chp 27: Cal and Farley are kinda annoying at the start, of all ppl on that plane they cant judge her. CAL literally gave the “i was a soldier taking orders” crap and Farley, a rebel leader, cries over a relationship developed offscreen so i can’t sympathize with her loss at all. We found out they were something two chapters ago. Just feels like angst fuel for Mave

Chp27: the entire prison break is one long chapter. Cal is angry Mave kills silver soldiers begging Cal to save their lives (rly Cal). Mave seems to remember why the revolution was needed in prison.

Not surprised he died. He was always the get out of jail card power and was handicapped and underused most the book.

Chp24 so Cal is stupid, he forgot that newbloods powers are stronger and newer. Mave literally points out the obvious to him and is called a genius.

Mace says she misses Maven and it’s funny because she hardly thinks of him and when she does its distaste for him. She misses Cal when he is brooding in the room with her more than the boy she thought Maven was

Chp23: idk Mave maybe if you didn’t spend all your time avoiding the newbloods after recruiting them they would like you as much as Kilorn.

Honestly all of them feel like npc’s we don’t really know who they are outside just surface level facts and their use to the team. We don’t know their drive, their relationship to Mave, each other, how they feel about being new-bloods, nothing. Just their use each chp.

Chp22: Another chp that thinks its profound and saying something. Mare feels very ooc

I also just found Mave funny for thinking a 15 year old as incredibly young when she is 17 and they literally met a child who can control death, Cameron is just an off switch for powers.

Chp21: gray man seer John. Chapter fun take of the seer types, but kinda rolled my eyes at all the “you are the special” treatment Mave gets, she is a leader and face due to media attention , but her powers aren’t all that special. I feel like we’ve met people with more powerful or intriguing powers at this point. Her biggest influence is Maven’s obsession with her.

Chp 20. Maven letters, more characters we are just told about, meet the grey man seer

Chp 19. This was either the first chapter without Cal or the first chapter that didn’t drop his name every paragraph
