This is good but Chen’s writing quirks are a bit sus sometimes. The number of times a person’s voice is described as “thick” in this book is a lot. There are some shifts in narrative voice that don’t make sense in the greater context of the rest of the narration. And lots of double-adjectives— “___ and ____”
