Dr. Victoria Peres was character in previous book and she was really interesting. I found this book features her so jumped right in to find out more about her past. She is called to a murder/suicide? scene with 6 possible drugged victims, one is still barely alive. Then out of the blue Dr. Seth shows up. He is candidate to replace the chief of her dept. who is retiring.

Unknown to any of her co-workers she and Seth have a history, he broke her heart 18yrs ago and now wants a second chance. She is 2 yrs out of a failed marriage and still hurt. She is known as the ice queen as she never shows her feelings and is totally job related, doesn't get close to anyone. Now someone is attempting to tamper with the investigation as well as a similar case that was never solved in the past.
