Wooo i got the book too! But I was kinda annoyed since it send only four days before the publish date sigh ....

Yeah, it's a pretty short book, but I don't like the expectation of indie authors that the readers are supposed to drop everything and skip-jump to reading their book. Last time it happened to me with Ami Wright's book who sent arcs late and pushed publication date earlier, shrinking the arc window to 5 days.

But at least I was getting emails the arcs are coming, with this author there was no newsletter, no reminders, I can't remember was the publication date even decided...

I already have 3 arcs from February and something like 7 for March, incl. an indie author who promised to send arcs late February with publication date 3 weeks later, so I'm saving a slot for them because I was given a heads up, if you're interested check Kayla Brooks paranormal romance author on IG (there are multiple people with that name when I search without the extra qualifier).

I'm extremely busy now, so probably won't pick this until April or May, unless I'm in need of a short palate cleanser in between books.

Yuuup, I agree with you. At least this one’s a novella, BUT still a little heads up would’ve been nice??? Meh. I’m glad she explained herself in the email tho. I get it, life happens. But so do we, arc readers.

Yes, it's about a female alien, that's why I'm interested! No, I haven't read anything from this author, but female aliens and monsters in romance are so rare! Same reason why I was curious of Poison Princess.
