While I’m enjoying parts of it, the writing leans heavily into clichés and can feel a bit cringe at times. That said, it may just be because the book is geared toward a younger, teen audience. We’ll see how it develops.

The sequel keeps the same immersive vibe as the first, using visuals and design to pull you in. This time we get dual perspectives from Rowan and Neil, which is fun and adds depth. Some chapters feel a little cringe and the pacing drags, but it’s still sweet and charming. I’m not sure where the climax is headed, but it’s a cute, easy read overall.
