Wow! The first section here, book 3 of the whole LOTR, was absolutely incredible.

Spoilers:

Merry and Pippin captive with the orcs, then the adventure in Fangorn Forest with the ents, rescuing Theoden, Helm’s Deep and its aftermath with Saruman — I never wanted this part to end, with the mix of characters being so much fun to spend time with. Just tremendous scene after tremendous scene.
