Gaunt was treated by the germans and now is in a german prisoner camp. He reunited with his old friend Gideon Devi. Devi tells him no one has escaped yet.

Gaunt is alive???!!!

Gaunt just died????!!

Gaunt and Ellwood have been caught kissing in the trenches after finding out they didn’t die by Burgoyne. Ellwood hits him and it’s punishable by death. Gaunt has received a mission to capture a german soldier. He says that the mission is murder.

Ellwood and Gaunt enjoy their station in france. Now they are back to battle in the british trenches.

Ellwood and Gaunt and the team are being sent to france. Ellwood convinces himself that Gaunt loves him the same way but Gaunt doesn’t know what he wants to feel.

Ellwood has an undying obedience and loyalty to Gaunt. Even when he comes off cold and bitter. “He wondered if Gaunt knew he would do anything for him.”

Ellwood and Gaunt finally make it happen.

Ellwood finally joined Gaunt in the battlefield. Gaunt drinks everyday and is unrecognizably cold and mean towards Ellwood.

Ellwood signed up to join the army. If Gaunt is going to die in battle he will too.
