i love when a sci-fi book has cool detailed science facts about The Creatures instead of just relying on them being unknown and unknowable. They spent years studying triffids and still were no match for them lmao

Honourable mention to Walter's autistically spiritual connection to the triffids and also the uncanny similarities between the global crises in the book and reality. It feels eerily similar as if everything was just moved 2 inches to the left or smth,,,
