Omg. The poor viking. They thought he died in battle and had him on the funeral pyre. Woke up while it was on fire. Instead of helping him off and praising Odin or whoever, they thought he was a zombie or something, held him down and that was that.

I think this is my favorite section. Historical stories of ways people absolutely should have dies, but somehow they survived.

I haven't thought of the Children's Crusade in at least twenty years and am sad to be reminded of its existence. So I am sharing.
