Such colorful writing!

(in a pub) It was a mystery to me how before they took up their instruments, you could not tell the musicians from the audience. They looked like farmers, grounded ground men, shy and unshowy, smoking cigarettes and hunkered silent or small talking over pints with no evidence at all of their gift.

Electricity will ‘soon be coming’ to this simple western Ireland village. Life revolves around simpler pleasures. Irish analogies that can make you laugh fully transport me to be inside every scene.
