The whole narrative of this book would fall apart if Viktors monster was beautiful. Viktor wouldn't have been fearful of it, the monster would've found a place among humans and received the love he gave, and everyone wouldve been happy. I also don't understand why Viktor didnt just get himself a gun, just wallowing in self pity for no damn reason. I understand the cultural and social impact of this book though.
