It’s actually a very easy read. Obvious tropes and classic GCSE English themes and motifs. I can only assume she was the Colleen Hoover but good girlie of her era.
I expect I am right to assume Edgar represents the body, the real, the proper and respectable society life Cathy assumes she needs to have while Heathcliff represents the wild desires of her heart.
I get why people love it though, I am a new fan.
