Hideo darted the broken arrow retrieved from Maelcom's wound to Riveiera. It hit him, and he screamed in rage. He fired two needles from his sternum and blinded Hideo by surprise.

As the gang arrived at the core of Straylight, Case jacked into the back of the head straight away. After he checked the gang's status, he flipped. He flipped back to cyberspace. After the 9 seconds count down, the ice of Tessier-Ashpool was shattered by the Chinese program's thrust. They banked above the horizonless fields of the cores, an endless neon cityscape.

Hideo found his balance, regained the bow on the floor like he wasn't blinded at all. 3Jane revealed that he had been practising Zen since he was a child. Both Hideo and Riviera vanished into the shadow beyond the wall. Maelcum seized his opportunity to grab his Remington and threatened 3Jane to comply. 3Jane took them to the elevator that led to the core of Villa Straylight.

As Case and Maelcum reached the entrance of the cave. The cart finally broke down, and they started walking down to the pool. When they stood next to it, a fury of arrows was fired, Maelcum got struck in his arm, and the Remington were sent across the white tiles. Hideo and Riviera appeared from the dark. A bathchair was pushed out by 3Jane, with Molly sitting on it.

Case woke up, hearing strange music, with his vision crawling with ghost hieroglyphs. He left the bunker, heading towards the surf. A boy named Rio was waiting there. He was the other AI. He revealed his name as Neuromancer. He was a guide of death. Case decided it was time to leave. He strolled towards the sea and woke up in front of the Sony monitor.

He found out that it was the other AI from TA that moved the stars around in Freeside and edited Molly's simstim signal. Now he is stuck in this fake reality, but the Linda in this place was a construct rather than an avatar for Wintermute. She had been stuck here for a while now. And seemed to be waiting for Case to show up.

He ended up on a beach with silver sand, and a city came into view. He walked for a long time, finding a stone bunker. Inside, Linda was warming next to a fire.

He was shocked by their presence. Maelcum pointed the Remington at him and told him to move it. They arrived at a console with a complex array of jack panels. Case readied himself to jack in.

The tug Garvey had parked at the dock of Starylight. They regained gravity due to the spindle. And they are ready to move into Starylight.

She told Hideo to bring a medical unit down from intensive care. In the conversation, she implied Hideo could take Molly on alone without Rivieria's help. Case flipped out, noticing that the Garvey was closing onto the Starylight's dock.
