There's a part where Selena, the main character who is from the city, is uncomfortable with the "alien silence" of the desert village. So much so that she has to dig out a radio for noise. Reminded me of when I moved to my current home, which I found disconcertingly [i]still[/i] after living for so long in a dump of a house that shook every time a vehicle went by.
