This book should end with Lore leaving Owen and the others behind. I hate Owen so much. Also we’ve reached critical “the C O V E N A N T” thresholds now. Fully expecting a chapter that is just them whispering “THE COVENANT” back and forth meaningfully to one another.

Omg another spooky room designed to mess specifically with one friend?!? One of these four insufferable protagonists needs to be killed off horrifically in the next few pages for my interest to be revived. Loving how creepypasta adjacent it is, but also realizing how much of the charm of the best creepypasta comes from brevity and suggestion. Mid-book break for YT readings of stairs in woods creepypasta classics.
