It's all very fresh bc I finished it hours ago. LOVED Nate, he was an interesting love interest but I did not bother to read what he says w a Scottish accent lol. Carrie was okay. Almost pissed me off running to Cyrus several times but in the end, she's no Aelin (thank GOD). Also RIP Ziggy, that was stupid of him (added good drama tho)... the father-son dynamic w Nate I actually cared about.

The lore was interesting and believable enough that I'm looking forward to reading the 2nd book. Clearly there's unfinished business w the Soul Eater and I want to see the actual romance play out (hopefully). This had just the right amount of trash and angst for me that I thoroughly enjoyed ignoring my real life to read about Carrie's pretty shitty new one. 5 stars for the vibes (romance did the heavy lifting).

As soon as I saw this available through hoopla I immediately borrowed it (it's been very hard to find!) and I'm happy to say that it didn't disappoint. Did not like From Blood and Ash bc it was too ridiculous (like this isn't?) but I made it through this one w/o any huge issues.. but I much prefer PNR over romantasy. This is spicy but also very dark.
