Half-way through. The writing is very clever, sometimes very funny. Jim/James is a character that knows who and what he is, but hides it from his closest/only friend, Huck. The cleverness is the craft in Jim/James’ tactics to hid his knowledge and abilities from white folk for the purpose of self-protection.
