Get eye contact, enter into a 'conversation' with sounds or words, take part in reciprocal interactions, shower them with affectionate touch and take the time to tune in into their emotional needs .. Thoroughly interesting so far, and I love the representation of 'non traditional' families.

With that said, it is a bit jarring that so many different cultures are cited, just to seem to support the modern Western world view of the author.

A little heavy on the huge logical leaps from evolutionary science and some questionable interpretation of psychological studies. Otherwise interesting.
