I thought this dust storm was gonna cause Mark to panic or anything. Once again, he is managing to stay calm and figure things out. I guess you have to be patient to be a Botanist.

Im surprised this book is giving me so much anticipatory anxiety at this point of the book. I’m so close to the end! I gotta know what happens!

I loved how we got to see into each astronauts lives through their video feeds to their family. Poor Johanssen, I can see why Mark told her not to worry, she already going through a ton of stress and responsibilities as is.

It’s terrifying reading a usually resilient and upbeat man snap. I’m almost halfway through the book though. You can’t die yet, Watney!

The sudden shift in tone threw me off, until I realized that the author was trying to show a gradual sense of impending doom.
